Everything that Slim Whitman sang is beautiful. Have been a fan of his for many, many years and have a lot of his recordings. His Christmas music is especially beautiful.I have an aunt and uncle who are devoted Slim Whitman fans; they were part of the generation who were teenagers in the fiftirs when his UK hits included Rose Marie, which spent 11 weeks at #1 in the charts. While I do not share their extreme devotion to his music, I have always admired and respected him for his very distinctive voice (still unmistakeable; nobody else sounds quite like him) and for his wide range of songs that he sings. I think he recorded three Christmas albums, of which this was the last, but somebody will correct me if I'm wrong :-)This album sounds exactly as I would expect a Christmas album from Slim Whitman to sound, whith a good mix of songs - four religious and six festive. Most of them are very obvious choices, though Deck the halls and Angels we have heard on high don't come round as often as the others.This album is my first Christmas album by Slim, as I missed the opportunity to buy any in my vinyl days.
