Yet another facet of Texas author Linda S. Bingham! My introduction to her work was Born on the Island, a historical saga of Galveston. Next came her flaming John & Mary Bolt mysteries, her Agatha-esque What the Librarian Heard, and lastly: All Roads Lead Home.Interestingly, this book portraying a Texas family dovetails nicely with BOI, having certain critical characters in common. I love it when authors do that! All Roads is a gritty, contemporary tale detailing the paths of various family members as, by plan or by circumstance, they find their way back to their roots. There's the matriarch still living at the family homestead, the fast-track executive, the housewife who married well, the whole foods hippie, a promiscuous adolescent or two, plus an assortment of friends and in-laws who get pulled into the fray. We get inside each individual, experience each heartbreak, desperation and tragedy, and finally rejoice at their reconciliations. It was quite a trip! Best of all, it was pure Linda S. Bingham.
