The music on this disc might remind you of late 1970s "southern rock", and the vocals definately sound more West Virginia than Seattle, but don't mistake Radio Nationals for a band that is 25 years behind the times. The lyrics are more in line with "No Depression" style alt-country bands, which is to say much more adult and interesting than anything on a .38 Special album, and the songs don't sound out of place on a modern "indie" or college rock station. Think something along the lines of Kings of Leon. I *love* the voice of the singer; it is such a great Rock singer voice and he uses it well. The standout tracks on this album are Anywhere, Backseat Queen, Black Lung, Golden, See You In New York, and Ghosts In The Room, but none of the songs are weak or "filler". Golden and See You In New York would be giant nation-wide radio hits if I were running things :-)
